The Japanese models, from the original 80s series that your friend has all the way to the Elitist and Lennon signatures are considered some of the best, but they also command pretty high prices. I haven't played a newer standard model Casino in a long time, but I've heard great things about the Inspired by John Lennon model if you are looking at a new import. It has a thin neck, which some don't like. But that's all the available info right now. Two Made-In-USA Casinos are on display right next to the Texans, one sporting a classy Vintage Burst finish and the other in a Royal Tan. I have a 2001 Casino, produced by Peerless in Korea, and I think it's a great guitar. Well, one thing everyone can get behind is a high-quality, US-made Epiphone Casinowhich Gibson has quietly unveiled at its booth at the NAMM 2020 show. The standard model, which has been available continuously since 1995, has been produced by a bunch of different factories in three different countries, and there have been some published and unpublished spec changes over the years. This is not a comprehensive list, but these are all the Casino models I"m aware of.
